First Guests

After 10 long months here in Portugal, we had our first visitors in late October. We were thrilled to host Ana and Matt King, dear friends and neighbors from Chapel Hill. They had been married just two days before they arrived. We really enjoyed showing them around Cascais and also had some outings to Lisbon and Sintra. We all had an excellent sampling of Portuguese wine and food, octopus included.

In her luggage, Ana brought a stunning gown to wear for a photo shoot in and around Cascais. The gown was made by Nikki Richardson, also from our neighborhood. It included custom lace and a 15-foot train of chiffon and tulle. Yes...15 feet. She made quite an impression on passersby in town and at the beach sites they went to. I have included a few of the photos I took but I can't wait to see the ones taken by their professional photographers. (I posted these on Facebook already, but I know some of my blog subscribers have not seen them.)

Preview of coming attractions: We depart tomorrow for eight days in Spain on a Gate 1 tour. I will post a report when we get back to Portugal.
